Excess weight gain in postmenopausal women in Ghana

Read this new publication on the experiences of postmenopausal women in Ghana on excess weight gain. It is an open access publication and can be viewed and downloaded here:

"Excess weight (overweight and obesity) refers to a build-up of adipose tissue (body fat) that causes deficiency in the well-being, physical health, and emotional health of an individual. Globally, the prevalence and trend of excess weight gain are of major economic concern, as behaviour alterations have led to this unhealthy body weight. The global prevalence of excess weight among post-menopausal women is about 10%. In Ghana, the prevalence of excess weight gain is between 10.7% and 14.1% and women are particularly affected within the West African region."
